My Story

I used to be the girl curled up in the corner at a birthday party. I would go to party, eat the food, and end up in so much pain in my belly that all I could do was curl into a ball and wait for my mom to come pick me up. That’s what my friends remember about me, I’m talking over 20 years ago. My stomach hurt after every single meal. No fun!

Years later, as a young adult, I changed up my diet. I removed dairy and found that I was no longer in pain every day. I started to examine other foods that were not working for me. Wheat bloated my belly and made it hard for me to sit down and think at work so I took that out too. I went and got allergy tested. I did the standard scratch test with my allergist and I also got delayed allergy IGg testing done as well to help reveal the rest. I did an elimination diet as well to get clear on what worked for my body and what else to take out.

After so many years of daily trauma to my digestive system, it was starting to shut down. So began a journey to take back my health with this new-found knowledge and now passion to rebuild my digestive system and become the healthiest version of myself. Now I work with clients who want to take back their health. Some clients are simply looking to lose weight, while others want to get back the energy they once had. We design eating plans specifically to work for their body. Most of my clients lose about 15 pounds and find that blood pressure stabilizes and they can get back to exercising again.

I studied at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and graduated in September 2010, becoming a Certified Health Coach and Member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. I combine what I’ve learned in school with my own personal experience and I help women who are stressed out about finding the right foods that are satisfying and make them feel amazing every day. I help them so they can feel yummy in their body and in their lives.

My Credentials

I am a Certified Health Coach (CHC) and a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). I received my training to practice Health Coaching at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories — combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods.

My training also incorporates the idea that everything in our lives is food, i.e., relationships, career, physical activity, and spirituality. These Primary Foods are just as nourishing, if not more so, than the foods that we eat (Secondary Foods). My programs include looking at and evaluating ways to improve both Primary Foods and Secondary Foods to created a healthy balanced life!

What is Health Coaching?
